Nominations are being invited for the award for the preservation and promotion of the archaeological heritage of Cyprus.
Awarded biennially to individuals or foundations who “ have demonstrated excellence in the preservation, protection and promotion od archaeological heritage “ it is the highest level of recognition on a local and regional level.
The competition is open to members of the local and regional archaeological community. Besides foundations it is open to individuals who meet the above standards of excellence, with the expection of Cypriot archaeologists working in the Public Sector.
To date, the prize has been awarded to the following Institutions: In 2002 the award was won by the AG Leventis Foundation, in 2004 it went to the Pierides Foundation, in 2006 the Swedish Archaeological Mission was honoured, while in 2008 thwe winner was the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation. The deadline for nominations is May 31, 2011.
