TASTE OF CYPRUS BEFORE TAKING OFF
Larnaca Airport is giving travellers a taste of Cyprus before they fly, with a shop offering products from the island.
Lacemakers, a Kornos pottery maker, and traditional Cypriot dancers entertained members of the press invited along to the launch of the “Kypriaka” shop at Larnaca airport this week.
It sells traditional Cypriot products including halloumi, olive oil, local wines, loukoumia and pottery.
Duty Free General Manager Danny Galvin said:”our main aim is to increase Cypriot products so we can proudly say we have got a totally Cypriot products area”.
Kypriaka will be hosting various events over the coming year, including Commandaria and Zivania Weeks. Competitions are also currently being held fort-shirt designs and for producers of traditional local products to win sponsorships and retail space within the shop.
