Eyeing Europe’s Golf Market Courtesy by The Cyprus Weekly
With the creation of golf courses Cyprus aspires to attract its share of Europe’s 4,3 million golfers.
“There is a definite future for golf in Cyprus and the island’s all-year-round sunshine means that golfers who cannot play in their home countries in the winter months, can visit Cyprus .
Their season ends in October just when the golfing high season opens in Cyprus,”Kazepisaid.
CTO is doing everything possible to promote golf with an eye for the future and itparticipates in major travel markets and golf fairs. It also organises familiarisation visits to Cyprus for golf journalists and tour operators . The organisation also sponsors golf courses organised locally, like the love Cyprus Amateur Men’s open and the love Cyprus Amateurs Senios Open(Men’s and Ladies) which attract more than 100 golfers from 18 countries.
This year, Cyprus will also host the PGA Europro Tour final championship which will be the first such professional golf event staged here.
