Petra tou Romiou National forest park
With an are of 349 ha, situated on the south-western coastal zone, on the main Pafos-Lemesos road, 10km far from the city of pafos. The area consititutes constitutes a typical mediterranean eroded scrubland due to past fires and overgrazing. İt is part of the Natura 2000 network, it exhibits excellent scenery and includes many recreational facilties such as picnic site, nature and spot trails and look out points.
Polemidia National Foresy Park
Just outside the town of Limassol with an area of 125ha, with a semi-natural and natural vegation. İt offers a variety of recreational facilities such as picnic site, nature trails, children’s playgraund, sports grounds cafeteria and kiosk.
With an mountain range of 4523 ha, is situated in the middle of the island on the eastern end of the Troodos. The park has a unique historical and outstanding ecological , sientific, hydrological and re creational value. İt has been indludd in the Natura 2000 network. Moe than 600 plants hav been recorded there ,27 of them endemics to the island. The whole area proved many recreational facilities such as 3 fully equipped picnic sites and 5 natural trails with social and historical sites. One of these trails has been designed to be used by disabled visitors.
Athalassa National Forest Park
With an area of 840ha, with man made vegetation, is situated near Lefkosia(Nicosia) town, and offers many recreational facilities,such as nature trails,picnic-sites,botanical gardens,bird-watching sites and volley-ball, basketball fields. A visitor centre and a botanical garden have been recently created providing information to visitor and enverionmental education to schools.
Peadagogical academy national forest park
With an area of 45 ha, with man made vegetation,is situated near lefkosia town, and offers many recreational facilities, such as picnic-sites, nature trails etc.
Near the town of larnaka, covers an area of 97 ha and it offers recreational facilities, such as picnic- sites, nature trails. The entire area has been included in the nature 2000 network, mainly because it hosts habitats of european interest.
İn the south east part of the island, is a national forest park and occupies an area of 390 ha and offers facilities for hiking, picnicking, cycling, horse-riding, climbing, swimming and diving. The national park area together with other with other forest and private land and the surrounding marine area have been included in the nature 2000 network.
Agios nikandros national forest park
With an area of 26 ha, is situated on the coastal zone west of the village of agia napa. A new development project is being pursued. A park development plan is bein implemented and already a picnic site and nature trail network have been recently completed.
With an area of 89 ha, is situated on a coastal zone at the west of agia napa area. A current implemented project under the coordination of the town planning and housing depertment aims at restoring the area while preserving its unique scenery and natural feature.
