MTN Cyprus, acknowledging the need for creating awareness and taking measures in order to eliminate road accidents in Cyprus, supported the Road Safety Campaign for the second year in a row, organised by the “Click” newspaper.
MTN Cyprus , member of the European Road Safety Charter, supported the Road Safety Campaign held under the auspices of the President of Cyprus Mr Demetris Christofias, in collaboration with the Cyprus Police, the Ministry of Communication and Works, and the Road Safety Council.
The Road Safety Campaign included lectures, distribution of informative material to every city and a number of villages around Cyprus, as well as other activities such as visiting people injured in car accidents, distribution of informative material to alcotest points and theatrical plays and shows. In addition, the campaign launched an open public discussion with people under the age of 30, regarding road safety issues, which will be continued throughout the year.
The sponsorship is part of the MTN Social Responsibility plan concerning road safety. The company committed itself to continue its awareness activities, so as the road accidents in Cyprus to be eliminated.
