A unique collection of exquisite garments including evening wear, day wear and gorgeous accessories from the 50c, 60s, 70s have been on show this week at the H.Art Centre in Limassol’s old town. Every item in the `Vintage Treasure Collection` has been hand picked by award winning costume designer Jo Katsaras whose exhibition ends Saturday.
The unusual items have been selected by Katsaras; she calls them her “treasures` which she “stumbled upon” during her recent film location work aboard. The collection is interspersed with a number of her own original pieces. Amazed at the `vintage` clothing she discovered, which was actually brand new and unworn, she decided to showcase it as the `Vintage Treasure Collection.`
Katsaras is hoping to inspire a new audience to the concept of vintage fashion wear.
Her passion for costume and creative theatricality expressed through her day, evening and atelier colloctions is clearly visible ; she is also on hand to advise and assist customers wishing to adapt their own style or to help those who simply want an expert opinion on what suits them.
