Splashing out to Mark World Water Day
A fun –packed day was held at the Limassol Water Board gardens to celebrate World Water Day.
The international campaign promoting Clean Water for a Healthy World was enjoyed locally by three Limassol primary schools, who were invited to attend the festivities and to take part in the fun and games which the Limassol Water Board and Water Museum had organised to commemorate this special occasion.
The whole of Monday was marked with a Live Link to Capital Radio which kept the audience and children informed and entertained throughout the proceedings.
The schoolchildren were encouraged to see for themselves how water is tested and treated, how it is purified and to demonstrate how it is measured during a morning to games and activities.
They were also given the opportunity to explore the museum and its historical equipment and pumping machines. The event was sponsored by Cyta and the Limassol Water Board and to add to their enjoyment, the morning included personal appearances of the Cyta mascot, “Tellis” and the Water Board’s very own mascot,`Drop`.
