Meanwhile, Paphos is to welcome new services for its peak season which starts on March 28.

UK no-frills carrier,  Easy jet has added new routes between Paphos and Bristol and Luton. Also from Britain ,jet2.com is scheduled to operate two extra flights from Paphos to Newcastle and the East Midlands on Wednesdays and Sundays from May to October.

German butget airline Condor, is due to operate flights between Paphos and Munich and Frankfurt from April until the end of October.

Europe Airport, which is owned by the French Post, is scheduled to operate as of mid-April between Paphos to Paris Charles De Gaulle and Finnish Airline, Vayudoot, will operate between Paphos and Kokkola in April and May and September and October on Mondays.

Ukrainian Airline, Windrose, will operate flights to and from Kiev from April to October every Wednesday, an increase to 32 flights from last year’s eight.

Swedish carrier, Viking Airline, will fly between Paphos and Katowice, Poznan and Warsaw every Tuesday for six months from April to October. The airline is also scheduled to operate between Paphos and Dusseldorf, Hamburg and Leipzig every Thursday from May until October.

Tour operator, Kiss Flights, is also pitching to charter Swedish Viking Airlines flights operating between Paphos and Manchester for July and August, but this schedule has not yet been confirmed.

Since the winter, Romanian airline, Blue air, has increased its operations from Paphos to Thessaloniki and Bucharest from two flights a week, last summer, to a current four flights a week.

Aspris quashed rumours in the local tourist sector that Air Berlin was terminating its services to Paphos.

“As per latest summer slots allocation provided by the Department of  Civil Aviation, Air Berlin is due to operate one flight every Tuesday from to Paphos to Nurenberg from March 30 to October 26.” He said.

Airline that have stopped flying to Paphos are Central Wings, which served Poland, and Jetx Airlines, which flew to Finland.

Paphos International Airport is currently served by 36 commercial airlines covering European destination.
