Antoniou is also the President of Cyprus ‘ Eurovision Fan Club.
“He was so enthusiastic about doing something for his own country that I immediately said yes when he invited me to become involved because, unless you’re in a large country like America, it’s very difficult to do something like this and I wanted to help.”
David also revealed that she was hoping to create a similar competition in her native France soon.

Antoniou said that the number would have been that the number would have been 20 if the Israeli entry had not been shortlisted to represent their country at Eurovision and become committed to a related event also taking place on Monday.
Antoniou said that this was a marked increase on last year’s 13 participants and noted that this year’s group had been selected from amongst 52 entries from 32 countries.
